All-Ohio (2/14)
At the All-Ohio Championships three DC women earned All-Ohio recognition for the second consecutive year. Freshman, Marlea Rolander ran what was originally believed to be a school record-breaking performance in the 55m hurdles. Though it was later found that she is in fact second on the all-time list, her efforts highlighted the meet for the Jackets, as the freshman sprinter earned All-Ohio honors with DC’s highest finish of the day, fifth.
Amanda Tooley earned All-Ohio status in two events, finishing sixth in the weight throw (44-11.00) and seventh in the shot put (37-02.25). Samantha Higdon tallied All-Ohio honors for the third consecutive year, placing eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 43-09.75. Laura Derov and Jessica Lipstraw narrowly missed All-Ohio recognition, as Derov (35-05.00) was 10th in the shot put and Lipstraw (41-05.75) 11th in the weight throw.
Kristin Goldstein, the only other Jacket to compete in the meet, missed finals in the 55m dash by just two places, finishing 10th with a time of 7.68.
The DC men finished 12th with 14 points. Over the past two years ten athletes have now earned All-Ohio honors indoors.
